new project_primary school [cardiff bay]

First visit to the site of an 8 week design project. The task is to design a primary school (5-7 yrs old). The site is located in Cardiff Bay- on an existing playground and partially extends outward into the wetlands reserve. Views out to sea and Penarth peninsula. In an area in need of regeneration- next to terraced housing, some derelict or in need of care. Right by the St. David's hotel- bizarre "contemporary" hotel with an odd looking sail-like roof.

There is a beautiful existing stone wall- as well as an eroded brick wall and some unused old blue gates- which I intend to keep and restore! The site has a good feel to it and so much character!
